Hustler Player of the Weekend: Brandon Contratto shines among many stellar Dasher performers

This week’s Hustler Play of the Weekend Award goes to Brandon Contratto!

Contratto was a key player in all three of the Dashers point-earning outings this weekend against the Mentor Ice Breaker, totaling 7 points on 4 goals and 3 assists, and scoring the game-winner in overtime on Friday at the Palmer Arena.

There were once again a lot of players that stood out this week, but it was Contratto who made the biggest impact of them all. Even when he wasn’t scoring, the West Bloomfield, Michigan native captured the eye in all of those in attendance as he flew around the ice, multiple times using his speed to force turnovers.

With a great in-game IQ and an always-vigilant attentiveness on the field, he has worked himself in as a regular starter under Head Coach Rod Davidson. Contratto had 3-point outings on both Saturday and Sunday, and made his presence known from the opening puck drop. Contratto also currently leads the Dashers active roster in points per game, tallying 1.3 an outing.

In 26 games, Contratto has 33 points, and two game-winning goals. The Dashers secured vital points on the weekend, cutting the distance between themselves and the fourth-place Port Huron Prowlers to just 11 points ahead of a vital three-game road trip against the Prowlers team that has provided for so many entertaining games against the Dashers already this season.

Other Notable Performances From the Weekend…

- Fred Hein continued to shine in the weekend series, also totaling 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists.

- Taylor Cutting had 5 points on the weekend, tallying up 2 goals and 3 assists in an impressive offensive series that earned him a start on Saturday night at home.

- Daniel Martin was all over the ice once again, the prolific point scorer had 6 points on the weekend (4A, 2G), highlighted by a 3-point performance in the Dasher’s blowout win on Saturday.

- Nathan Campbell and Eric Masters also had 3-point nights on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

- The Skipper Dustin Henning once again found the stat sheet with five points on Friday and Saturday combined (2G, 3A).

See? We told you there were a lot of good performances.
